What is Searx?
Searx is an open-source metasearch engine. It queries multiple search providers and returns combined results without building a personal tracking profile.
Prerequisites
- Linux server (Ubuntu/Debian recommended)
- Docker + Docker Compose installed
- Domain or subdomain (optional but recommended)
- Reverse proxy (Nginx, Caddy, or Traefik)
1) Create a working directory

2) Create docker-compose.yml

Use your reverse proxy to publish search.example.com with TLS. Keep Searx bound internally and expose only through the proxy.
